Every year, we hesitate to visit our favorite hairdresser before going on vacation. And yet, it is useless to keep its unsightly roots all summer or to wait for the return to refresh its spikes.

Hair experts, answer all the questions that arise and give their best advice to take care of our hair during the holidays.

  • Tip # 1: to color, we wait for the return

For Gianni Coppa, creator of the R'factory fair and hairdresser-colourist, the ideal is "to wait until the beginning of the school year to prevent the color from turning".

If one chooses to color the hair (in the traditional way, that is to say using chemicals) before leaving, "one must make its color one to two weeks before and only if one protects it with a spray adapted".

The reason: when coloring, the colourist creates an oxidation of the hair. This raises the scales of the hair and becomes porous and therefore more sensitive to aggressions.

The risks:
they are not the same for the brunettes that for the blondes. The darker the color, the greater the risk. Indeed, the pigments of the brown colorations turn more easily towards red or orange reflections whereas the blondes will turn to golden pigments.

The trick of Romain, expert of the soft coloring:
for light blondes or chestnuts, one can accentuate the golden side of the coloring and gain in brilliance with a decoction of dry flowers. Chamomile chamomile leaves are infused in boiling water, filtered and 2 drops of lemon essential oil are added thereto. It remains only to spray his hair of this preparation before leaving in the sun.

When one is brunette, it is necessary to cover his head well to preserve his hair from the rays of the sun and one hydrates.

  • Tip # 2: Cutting its tips

Here too, there is no strict rule. We adapt according to the condition of our hair.

If the hair is damaged , the spikes are cut to prevent the forks from rising and therefore being forced to cut much more during the re-entry.

At the beginning of the school year, a scissors stroke is required. Salty water, chlorine and sun damage the hair. That is why it is necessary to point out what is damaged.

  • Tip 3: forget about straightening

The conventional straightening weakens the hair because it modifies the internal structure of the hair fiber.

The reason: sensitized, the hair will be even more vulnerable to the attacks of the summer.

Risks: you risk coming back from holidays with straw on your head.

The colourist's astuteness : one will opt instead for a Brazilian smoothing that does not aggress the hair and will instead feed them deep.

It is a 100% natural care based on cocoa butter and shea butter. The massive supply of shea in the hair moisturizes it deeply and facilitates styling.

On the other hand, it is necessary to allow 3 to 4 hours depending on the length of our hair. But the game is worth the candle since the result lasts 4 months. And according to our expert of the natural ... to test this technique is to adopt it!

  • Tip # 4: protect his mane

Like the skin, the hair can suffer from our holidays, so it is necessary to protect them with treatments equipped with a UV filter and a water barrier. The application will be repeated every two hours.

Gianni Coppa, however, does not recommend using conventional vegetable oils that "roast the hair".

Avoid too much washing your hair and abuse moisturizing care. A rinse can be carried out with clear water to dislodge salt or chlorine in the middle of the day. On the other hand, shampooing in the evening is essential.

In the case of a coloration project, attention is redoubled. A healthy and vigorous hair is the basis of a successful color.
