A street performer was captured on film shouting abuse at a passer-by.

An entertainer, who was covered in silver paint and stood on a street pretending to be a stone statue, was caught in a heated debate to a heckler during a live BBC broadcast.

The actor can be heard shouting expletives to the male, who was being held back by a policeman, the Metro Online has reported.

The reporter was in the middle of presenting the news for BBC East Midlands speaking about poverty in Leicester, but was forced to apologise to the audience for the chaos that was going on in the background.

She said: ''Ok, thank you very much. I do apologise for the noise in the background but there will be much more on this story.''
