Lara Croft is coming to cinema once more, but this time with the brilliant Alicia Vikander in the leading role. With Tomb Raider, we’ll be delving deeply into how the explorer’s legend truly begins, with Roar Uthaug serving as director and Dominic West and Walton Goggins also starring. Check out the brilliant, jaw-dropping first trailer for the film below:
At 21-years-old, Lara Croft is a fiercely independent woman and the daughter of an eccentric adventurer who disappeared when she was just a teenager. Without any focus in her life, Lara begins work as a bike courier in East London, only just making up the money she needs to pay her rent and rarely making it to her college classes.
Wanting to forge her own path instead of riding the coattails of her father and the global empire that her built, she convinces herself that her dad hasn’t really truly gone and that his return is always right around the corner.
After seven years without him, those around Lara suggest she begin to move on, but she comes to the realisation that she wants to solve the puzzles that surround his disappearance. Going against his final wishes, she travels to his last-known location – a tomb on a mythical island off the coast of Japan, filled to the brim with dangers and terrifying challenges.
Fighting against the odds with her sharp mind and stubborn nature, Lara must push herself harder than ever before, journeying into the unknown and making a name for herself as the brilliant Tomb Raider.
Tomb Raider will come to cinemas in the UK at some point in March, 2018.
