Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez is ready to make a move for Napoli midfielder Allan and is said to be preparing a bid for around £10m.

The 26-year-old holding midfielder played 39 times for the Italian giants last season but reports in Italy claim he will be allowed to move on if the price is right.

Benitez is keen to take the Brazilian to Newcastle as he belives he will be able to adapt his game to the Premier League without too much trouble.

The Newcastle boss is keen to add to his squad before the season starts in less than three weeks and a raid on his former club Napoli could be on the cards but he faces a battle as both Southampton and West Brom have also been linked.
