Two PETA models popped on their 1950s style swimsuits today and handed out strawberries and vegan cream to the people queueing up for Wimbledon.

"Strawberries with vegan cream is the perfect cruelty-free twist on a Wimbledon tradition," says PETA Director Elisa Allen. "By serving up a dairy-free treat, PETA is showing tennis fans how cool and delicious vegan eating can be."

PETA’s motto reads, in part, that "animals are not ours to eat". Vegan treats are free of saturated animal fat and cholesterol but they are also kinder to cows on dairy farms. Why? Because female cows are artificially impregnated and separated from their babies just after birth so that humans can drink their milk. When they can no longer produce milk, they are sent to the slaughterhouse.
