Nino Bertasio carded a six-under-par 65 on Friday to move into a one-shot lead at the halfway stage of the Portugal Masters.

World number 409 Bertasio, who has four professional wins to his name, made six birdies in a bogey-free round to move onto -12 for the tournament, signing for a second consecutive round of 65.

The 29-year-old Italian has opened up a slender one-shot advantage from Scotland's Marc Warren, who shot a superb seven-under-par 64, and Denmark's Lucas Bjerregaard, who also signed for an impressive round of 65.

Dutchman Joost Luiten, who was runner-up back in 2010, and Australian Jason Scrivener are in a share of fourth on -10, two strokes off the pace, after carding rounds of 68 and 67 respectively.

Ireland's Shane Lowry is then part of a group of five players in joint-sixth on -9 and is joined on that mark by South African pair George Coetzee and Dean Burmester along with the English duo of Eddie Pepperell and Graeme Storm.

Defending champion Padraig Harrington is still in with a chance of retaining his title after a second consecutive round of 67 left him in a three-way tie for 11th on -8 alongside Spaniard Nacho Elvira and Belgian Thomas Detry.
