Carpooling is increasingly anchored in our society. In fact, 44% of people under 35 have carpooled in the last twelve months. This does not prevent these users from traveling with certain requirements. While the majority of people (including young people), promote carpooling for economic reasons, passengers are not less attentive to quality, but especially to the safety of their journey. Here are 5 figures that reveal our relationship to carpooling today:
- For more than one in two (58%) French, the most important factor is the driving style of the driver .
- 31% are then concerned about having information about the driver and / or the passengers.
- The state of the vehicle in which they will travel is essential for 44% of passengers.
- 41% of respondents use this means of transport to respect the environment: carpooling also reduces a little air pollution related to the greenhouse gas emissions of modes of transport.
- 61% find it normal for a carpool passenger to ask the driver to check certain safety points (such as the state of tire wear) before driving.
