Catalans Dragons have confirmed the loan signings of Wigan Warriors duo Lewis Tierney and Romain Navarrete.

Tierney started his career with the Lancashire outfit but has struggled to earn a regular run out this season and will join the French side as they fight for their Super League status.

The 22-year-old, who can play at full-back or on the wing, was a member of Wigan’s Grand Final-winning team last October but he has recently been forced out of the starting lineup following Sam Tomkins’ return to fitness.

Meanwhile, Navarrete only joined Wigan this season from Catalans, where made his Super League debut and turned out 11 times, but he has found it difficult to force his way into Shaun Wane’s plans.

Head coach Steve McNamara said: "We are delighted to add Romain and Lewis to our squad. They add both quality and depth at an important time of the year."

Catalans head into the final two games of the regular season sitting 10th in the Betfred Super League and in serious danger of being dragged into the Qualifiers if they fail to pick up positive results against St Helens and Castleford Tigers.
