Chester Bennington was buried on Saturday.
The Linkin Park frontman was laid to rest near his home in Palos Verdes, Los Angeles during a private funeral service. According to 'TMZ' there were a few hundred people present. After the 41-year-old committed suicide a few days ago, his family planned a close-knit funeral to which only relatives, friends, band members, and musicians with whom he had worked were invited.
Although the singer's fans could not attend the funeral service, Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda has already announced that there will be worldwide commemorations for the deceased. In an Instagram post, Mike also thanked the band's fans on behalf of the other members Brad Delson, Dave Farrell, Joe Hahn and Rob Bourdon. He wrote: "One week. Feels forever. I have a few updates here ... [...] Brad, Joe, Rob, Dave and I love you all very much. Thank you for accepting our privacy during this tough time. "
Chester's widow Talinda also said in a statement to Us Weekly about her husband's death: "I want to let my community and fans worldwide know that we can feel your love. My children were too young when they lost their father but I know that you will all help keep the memory of him alive. May God bless us and help all of us support each other when we are in pain. Chester would have wanted that for us. Peace and quiet , my love."
