Burnley boss Sean Dyche is looking forward to his side's upcoming pre-season matches against Celta Vigo and Hannover.

The Clarets will first play host to La Liga outfit Celta at Turf Moor on Tuesday before they entertain Bundesliga new boys Hannover on Saturday.

Dyche admits his side had offers to play some pre-season matches abroad but believes it was the right decision to organise two home games.

"Because we have changed as a club we do get offered away games abroad. But we have chosen these two home games against high-quality opposition," Dyche told the club's official website.

"It's good to play these types of games and to have some fixtures at Turf Moor so more fans can get the chance to watch."

The 46-year-old insists the ultimate goal of the high-profile friendlies is to get the squad in top condition for their Premier League opener against champions Chelsea on August 12.

He added: "We are still working towards the start of the season and using the game-time appropriately."
