Rick
Owens exposes himself in Milan

This is a first for Rick Owens . The one nicknamed "The Lord of Darkness " is, until next March, the subject of a major retrospective at the Triennale of Milan. Non-exhaustive blend of clothing, objects, sculptures and images, the exhibition explores the radical universe of this creator with a plural aesthetic, between brutal and ethnic influences, while underlining the influence of artists such as Marcel Duchamp or Pierre Molinier on his work. A stylistic grammar largely intellectualized therefore, setting itself willingly at the antipodes of the logic of commercial influences that animate the contemporary fashion-sphere.

The Martin Margiela Retrospective at Palais Galliera

Thirty years after having co-founded the eponymous house, Martin Margiela will be celebrated at the Fashion Museum of the City of Paris. Distinguished for his conceptual approach to clothing, the creator whose face we do not know has marked the fashion of his imprint made of destructured minimalism and militant simplicity. Symbolic silhouettes, unpublished archives or even rare testimonies: the scenography of the event will apply to distill the work of the Belgian designer and to understand the artistic mechanisms, under the curation of Alexandre Samson. In parallel, the Museum of Decorative Arts, renamed MAD, will host the exhibition "Margiela - The Hermes Years" originally presented last year at MoMA Antwerp.
