Leicester say they are working hard to complete the signing of midfielder Adrien Silva after FIFA blocked the move.

The Foxes agreed a £22million deal with Sporting Lisbon on transfer deadline day after allowing Danny Drinkwater to join Chelsea, but FIFA have so far refused to accept the documentation to support the registration.

Five days on and there is still no sign of the deal being pushed through and there is a chance he will not be able to play for the club until January.

Foxes officials say they are working with Sporting and the player in the hope they can correct the registration and get the clearance required off FIFA.

"We are working with Adrien and Sporting Clube de Portugal to overcome some issues relating to the player's registration and exploring all options to find a resolution," said a Leicester spokesman.
