Morrissey's childhood friend James Maker says the biopic 'England Is Mine' about The Smiths frontman is not truthful.

The new drama documents the early life of the world star. But one of his oldest friends now claims that the strip is basically a big lie. Morrissey's real character will not be given an account. On Facebook, he writes: "According to the 'England Is Mine' trailer, Morrissey was an autistic, shy creature with curly hair and think lines that had to be physically urged by a well-meaning friend to be a singer."

But "worse" was that the filmmakers "put the musician in a green duffel coat" and "didn't give him a line of Morrissey joke" for which all his friends had loved him. Maker therefore draws the following conclusion: "It is not a film biography, it is historical fiction. A strange film, considering that these formative years have been documented so well and in detail."

But that's not all: He also suggests bringing the producers of the film to court: "Morrissey's mother should sue the filmmakers solely for misrepresenting their curtain fabric." Because "the fact is: this is not Morrissey".
