Lighthouse on the trend of spring-summer 2014 spotted in Milan: glitter! There is no question of bling bling pieces but rather sophisticated looks! Neither is it a rude return in the 70s , when sequins were synonymous with disco, but contrary to very contemporary silhouettes!
Sequins make a remarkable comeback on the Italian podium, especially at Pucci, which does not skimp on the total glitter look: on the combis, and on the dresses in the colors of the rainbow! At Fendi, sequins are on sequin embroidered dresses, for a worked effect! Other creators like Prada, have light hand on rhinestones and apply them on specific areas in a couture optics. If you are not a fan of glittery sequins, too exuberant to your taste; do not worry, some creators like Versace have played sobriety with black dresses, starry mini glitter! Blumarine shows us that sequins are not necessarily antonyms of refinement by embroidering them on transparent materials for a very chic effect! In the same vein, Bottega Venetta offers us a very poetic vision by spreading them unevenly over her dresses, like a shower of glitter!
In the same family, we find the iridescent materials, another great trend of Milan Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2014! We liked the iridescent gray Versace or Pucci for a metallic silhouette! Antonio Marras and Marni are working on this material: one is based on an aged effect, and the other is shell for two retro versions! Gucci likes iridescent on a bomber, on a top, and on pants, that nothing prohibits to wear together!
The finale of the Dolce & Gabbana parade could not be a better tribute to this iridescent trend: twenty models dressed in gold and shining brightly!
