Justin Bieber now has 100 million followers on Twitter.
The singer is only the second person to have reached this milestone on the microblogging side. Only pop star Katy Perry can gather more followers - she had already cracked the brand in June.
Twitter itself celebrated this special situation with a video that shows the popular hashtags of the 'Sorry' artist. It says: "We have been keeping each other company since tweet number one. Congratulations @justinbieber for # 100MBeliebers". The teenage crush of course did not miss the opportunity to retweet the post and draw attention to its extraordinary performance.
A few statistics on the 23-year-old's activity have also been revealed. The word 'Belieber' - the nickname for Justin's fans - is said to have been tweeted an incredible 84 million times. The terms 'Bieber' or '@JustinBieber' are also said to have been used on Twitter over two billion times. The star's most famous tweet dates from 2014 and has been tweeted 638,000 times to date. It says: "You are worthy no matter what someone says >> Be strong, God is with us all> My beloved have changed my life> I will be grateful forever".
