Lea Michele will head to London later this month to play a one-off show at Shoreditch Town Hall, previewing some of the tracks from her upcoming album ‘Places’, which is set for official release on April 28.
On Friday, April 21 the singer and actress will head to the UK following the launch of her album pre-order. The record includes previously released track ‘Love Is Alive’ as well as her powerful new song ‘Anything’s Possible’, but Michele is also ready to showcase some of her newer material.
Speaking about the album’s title, she said: “When it came time to name my album, I settled on ‘Places’ because this album for me represents a return to form, a return to the stage, and a return to the place I belong.
“When you perform on Broadway the word ‘Places’ is the last thing you hear over the loudspeaker before a show is about to begin.
“‘Places’ I thought was the perfect title for this music and how it reflects who I am as an artist today and where I come from.”
Many people know Lea Michele from her breakout role in Ryan Murphy’s hit series Glee, where she played perfectionist Rachel Berry. Helping to bring a SAG Award home to that show for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, she instantly became a fan favourite with viewers at home.
She’s also known for her performances in live theatre, having received rave reviews for her performance in the role of Wendla in the Broadway production of Spring Awakening, which earned her a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Musical.
It’s fair to say that Lea Michele’s talents are spread thickly amongst many different skills. For now though she’s focusing on the release of her new LP, and we can’t wait to hear the album in all its glory.
‘Places’ drops on April 28, with new single ‘Anything’s Possible’ set for impact on May 12.
