Linkin Park released their first statement after suicide by front man Chester Bennington.
The singer was found dead in his home on Thursday (July 20). His bandmates Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave Farrell, Joe Hahn and Rob Bourdon are still devastated a few days after their friend's death. On their website, the 'In The End' hitmakers published a touching letter to the musician, thanking the fans for their support and expressing their sympathy for Bennington's wife Talinda and his six children.
It says, "Dear Chester, our hearts are broken. The shockwaves of grief and denial are still flooding through our families as we try to understand what has happened. You have touched so many lives, maybe more than you understand Over the past few days we have seen a stream of love and support around the world, both public and private, Talinda and the family appreciate it and want the world to know that you are the best husband, son and father were; the family will never be completely without you. "
The artist is also given tribute in the following words: "Your enthusiasm was infectious when people talked to you about the years ahead. Your absence leaves a void that can never be filled - a stormy, funny, ambitious, creative, friendly and generous voice is missing in the room. "
It is still unclear whether the band will continue without their front man: "Our love of making music and performing is unbroken. Although we do not know which path our future will take, we know that each of our lives has been made better by you. Thank you for this gift. We love you and miss you so much. "
