Rory McIlroy feels he is not too far away from hitting top form and believes he may be worth a bet at this week's Open.
The 28-year-old is currently in a slump, having missed the cut at both the Irish and Scottish Opens, while he has also failed to make the weekend at three of the last five majors.
The Northern Irishman's problems on the putting surface have been well documented and he has been working hard to put things right ahead of the Royal Birkdale showpiece.
With indifferent form and low confidence, the bookmakers have responded by sending him out to as much as 20/1 in some places, and McIlroy feels he may be worth a punt.
"Good time to back me, I think. Yeah, look, if I was a betting company and I saw my form over the past few weeks, you would say, yeah, that's probably a fair enough price," he said.
"But, again, all it takes is one week for those odds to go back to, I don't know, 7 to 1, 8 to 1 at Quail Hollow. So as I say, good week to back me."
