The Crystal Globes Ceremony celebrates 10 years

In 2015, for its 10th anniversary, the jury of the Ceremony of the Globes of Crystal offers a president of choice. Christine Kelly , former journalist, among others, by TF1 , LCI and Canal , is the first woman to take the role. She who has just completed her six-year term at the CSA spent hours and hours with 27 journalists (from all sectors: print, radio, TV, culture and others). Together, they determined the 5 nominees of the 14 categories of Crystal Globes . Among them, for example, Best Film, Best Musical, Best Book or Best Actress.

While waiting to know the names of the winners, announced at the grand ceremony of April 13 at the Lido, Christine Kelly talks about her role as chairman of the jury.

Christine Kelly, why did you agree to become president of the 2015 Crystal Globes Ceremony jury?

This ceremony is the only event that rewards culture as widely. It values ​​a world that we forget a little too often, while artists weigh heavily in our society. They help us pass messages and make things happen. I also like the fact that it is the journalists who vote and award the prizes. They are not there just to talk about what's wrong.

This is the first time that a woman chairs the jury ...

I am very proud of that and that is one of the reasons I have accepted. When I am told "you will be the first woman to", I say yes. I was the first overseas woman at the CSA and the first woman to set up a single-parent association. The cause of women affects me and this role of president of the jury at the Globes de Cristal is also a way of militating intelligently. Too bad that it was necessary to wait for the 10th Ceremony for a woman to be designated, it proves that there is still work ...

President of the Crystal Globes jury, what is this role?

Since it changes every year, the president of the jury brings a fresh look. I debated, with a permanent team of 27 journalists, to determine the 5 nominees of the 14 categories. We defended our favorites, voted and revoked. Then there are 15,000 journalists who are currently voting to elect the big winner in each category.

Who is your darling among the 2015?

There are so many different categories, it's complicated to have a single blow of heart ... and then I forbid myself to have one. But there are works that I defended very much, like Timbuktu, the film of Abderrahmane Sissako. And long before he wins 7 Caesars! I like the very eclectic side of the Crystal Globes. For example, in the category of Best Male Performer, there is on one side Johny Hallyday whose last album pleasantly surprised me and the other Kendji Girac that I also adore.

What are the novelties of this 10th Crystal Globes Ceremony?

There is of course the fact that the jury is chaired by a woman for the first time. Let's say I change the classic 50-year-old male profile ... In 2015, it's no longer 12 but 14 categories that are awarded with Best Actor and Best Actress. I also think that the organizers of the Crystal Globes are working on a somewhat innovative presentation, but I am not aware ... We will know more on D-Day.
