"Patchouli", a history of the Orient
"Patchouli" by Reminiscence was created in 1970 in a setting that lent itself to creative inspiration: Juan-les-Pins, on the French Riviera. It was here that Zoé Coste and Nino Amaddeo opened their first shop, which is a good example of India and the Orient, a universe in which the imagination of the two creators finds itself. Intoxicated by exotic aromas and shimmering colors, Zoé Coste develops the first three fragrances of the Reminiscence brand: "Patchouli", "Ambre" and "Musc". These smells straight out of the "Tales of the Thousand and One Nights" invite the journey and find an echo in the hippie movement of the 1970s.
Composition of the eau de toilette "Patchouli"
As expected, the "Patchouli" scent harmonizes around a central woody note: patchouli. Although today this material is a little shunned, it is still found in "Shalimar" Guerlain among others. Reminiscence "Patchouli" also contains woody notes based on essential oils of cedar, vetiver and sandalwood, which give a drought effect as soon as softened by the notes of background. These are vanilla from Madagascar, tonka beans and white musk. This durable assembly lasts a very long time.
"Patchouli", a journey through time
The patchouli has not completely fallen into oblivion, but today it is used with some parsimony. "Patchouli" by Reminiscence remains faithful to this raw material, and pays him a beautiful tribute that will appeal to women followers of the oriental perfumes with the asserted personality. Reminiscence perfumes are worn as jewelery ornaments. They highlight those who wear them, and transport them to enchanting countries for an evening. For "each bottle contains a sublime elixir, made to measure, capable of penetrating the soul and the heart of the wearer and the one who is wrapped in it."
