Peter Andre has reportedly been "incredibly supportive" of ex-wife Katie Price after the news her mother is terminally ill and her marriage break-up.
The 44-year-old singer was married to the former glamour model for four years before they split in 2009, and although the former couple are no longer together Katie's first husband has "pulled through" during this "difficult time", which has seen the 39-year-old beauty call time on her relationship with her previous partner Kieran Hayler after he admitted to having an affair with their nanny, and announce her parent Amy has been diagnosed with a lung disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
Speaking about the dark-haired hunk - who has 12-year-old son Junior and 10-year-old Princess with Katie, as well as three-year-old Amelia and eight-month-old Theodore with his wife Emily MacDonagh - a source told The Sun Online: "Katie and Pete have had their ups and downs over the years after getting divorced but he has really pulled through for her during this difficult time.
"He's been incredibly supportive and understanding about what she is going through."
And the 'Mysterious Girl' hitmaker's children have "always" been his priority and it is believed he has stood by Katie because he thinks it will "help everyone in the long run".
The insider continued: "Pete's main priority is his kids and he has always wanted what is best for them - he knows that being there for Katie will help everyone in the long run."
It has recently been reported the dark-haired heartthrob has "begged" the 'Loose Women' panellist to stop with the "public slanging matches" against her 30-year-old partner Kieran for the sake of her brood.
A separate source previously said: "Pete's begged Katie to stop with the public slanging matches."
Although it is believed Katie is being so open about her life struggles because she is fearful her career will be "dead and buried" if she is no longer in the spotlight.
The insider continued: "However, she fears if she stops washing her dirty laundry in public, her career will be dead and buried."
