West Bromwich Albion coach Tony Pulis has called on authorities to close the summer transfer window before the start of the season.
The former Stoke City boss asked for changes back in 2015, when Tottenham tried to sign Saido Berahino during the final hours of the transfer window.
Pulis was then forced to deal with an unsettled squad but he continued to battle on last summer as he strengthened his squad.
Despite having no transfer battles just yet, Pulis insists his mindset still has not changed and he believes the window needs to close when the new campaign gets underway.
He told the Birmingham Mail: "I wouldn't have it that way. I'd have it finishing on the first day of the season and people will do their business a lot earlier then.
"It would give you an opportunity and a chance to work with the players before the season starts."
