Reese Witherspoon finds the success of 'Big Little Lies' to be "overwhelming".
The 41-year-old actress stars in the hit HBO show alongside the likes of Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley, and after the programme was named the Outstanding Limited Series at the Emmy Awards on Sunday (17.09.17), Reese revealed she's still coming to terms with how warmly it's been received.
She shared: "It's an exciting moment. But it's overwhelming.
"I'm a little spacey, for sure. It's exciting, because I just didn't expect any of this. It's really emotional for me.
"I think about the little girls out there who watch women be the architect for their own stories and write their own stories and produce them and act in them, and take the power back, and be motivated by motivating them."
Despite the Emmy success, Reese - who also serves as an executive producer - insisted the show's biggest triumph is how it has won over TV watchers.
She told 'Entertainment Tonight': "People come up to me in Nashville and New York City, all over the place.
"They just love these characters and they love that we're telling the truth about how women really feel."
Meanwhile, Reese recently revealed she is already working on another show with Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston, and she promised it will be "great".
The blonde beauty has been trying to remain tight-lipped about her new project with the 'Friends' actress, but she admitted it will be "based on morning talk show hosts".
She said: "Jen and I are doing a show together based on morning talk show hosts, and ... yeah! It's going to be great. It's a really interesting world."
On the other hand, Reese cast doubt on the possibility of 'Big Little Lies' returning for a second season.
The actress explained: "I don't really have anything to say. We're talking about it ... We're only going to do it if we feel like it's as good as the first season. So we're just thinking about ideas."
