Everton winger Aaron Lennon is still on the wanted list of Burnley, who will try and wrap up a deal in the January transfer window.

The Clarets made an attempt to land the 30-year-old before the closure of the summer window two weeks ago but Toffees boss Ronald Koeman blocked the move as he did not have time to find a replacement.

Despite a bumper spending spree, Koeman did not want to be left short in the wide areas between now and January and turned down the chance to let Lennon leave when the Clarets came knocking on deadline day.

However, there appears little chance of Lennon getting too much action over the next few months and Koeman could be more willing to sanction a move once he has lined up a replacement in the new year.

Lennon would have a good chance of playing regular first-team football with the Clarets and would no doubt jump at the chance of a move until the end of the season at least, if the opportunity presented itself.
