St Helens hooker James Roby insists he and his team-mates will not get carried away despite beating Castleford on Thursday night.
Justin Holbrook's men were in fine form as they opened up their Super 8s campaign with a win.
Castleford suffered their first defeat at home in over a year with Zeb Taia and Jonny Lomax crossing either side of half-time.
Roby, who was named man of the match, also chipped in with two tries in a superb display but the England international insists nobody will get carried away.
He told Sky Sports: "It was a great team performance. Our defensive attitude to keep a team like Castleford, especially this year, at bay was excellent. We worked hard and worked for one and other and it paid off.
"You’ve got to take what chances you get. It was a tight game, but it was a great performance and we can take confidence from that.
"We wanted to get the win and perform well. We’ll take each win as it comes. The Super 8s are going to be testing for every team, we can’t get carried away, we’ve got to keep at it."
