Pedro Caixinha has confirmed that Jordan Rossiter is set to miss Saturday's Old Firm clash against Celtic with his ongoing knee injury.

The 20-year-old England youth international, who joined from Liverpool in summer 2016, had an injury-interrupted debut campaign at Ibrox.

And a knee issue has continued to hamper Rossiter's chances of progress so far this term as he has been restricted to a 90-minute cup run-out and just nine minutes of Premiership action to date.

There was hope that he could be back in the fold for Saturday's visit of Celtic but Caixinha has now dismissed that out of hand.

The Gers boss said: "Jordan Rossiter still has some pain on the knee so he still can't train with the team and is not in our options."
