Saracens coach Alex Sanderson has admitted the club could face problems when trying to renew the contracts of their top players.

The Premiership outfit have enjoyed plenty of success in the past three seasons with two domestic titles, an LV=Cup and two successive European Champions Cup victories.

In that time they have brought through some quality young players such as George Kruis, Maro Itoje and Jamie George, all of who have contributed to their haul of silverware.

But rival clubs are now being alerted to their quality and that means the Sarries will face a fight further down the line when their contracts are coming to an end.

And Sanderson fears that if they can't come up with satisfactory deals, then they could lose them to clubs with more financial muscle.

"We're perturbed about retaining our players. We’ve got a lot of lads who are now ‘Lions legends’ who we’ve brought through since they were 15 or 16, but will be coming out of contract over the next couple of years,” Sanderson told The Rugby Paper.

"Their agents will be asking for more money, which you can’t blame them for, but it feels like you get punished for bringing lads through your academy who are playing well."
