Snowballs, a story
The origin of the snow globe dates back to the Exposition Universelle of 1878, the third to be held in Paris. Often considered a gimmick, in the nineteenth century the snow balls were the work of the greatest glassmakers and glassblowers. At the time, snow balls served as a paperweight and many foreign visitors left Paris with this souvenir typical of French crafts. With the arrival of paid holidays in 1936 and the development of tourism, snowbows became a must in the seaside resorts of the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts. In the 50s, we abandon the glass to make these globes in the fashionable material: plastic ... but today these wonders find their original luxury.
