Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen turned down a move to Stoke on deadline day much to the annoyance of boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs swooped for Fernando Llorente from Swansea ahead of the deadline, and were hoping to balance the books by moving out Janssen, who was wanted by a host of Premier League clubs.
Stoke were leading the race, while there was also interest from Brighton and West Brom, but the Dutchman refused to move despite being told he does not figure in Pochettino's plans.
Janssen would have had a great chance of playing regular first-team football at any of the three clubs, but for reasons unknown, decided to stay where he is.
Pochettino has reacted by leaving the striker out of his 21-man Champions League squad, and he is unlikely to get any action in the Premier League either after rejecting the move.
