The success of Tod's family business lies in the creation of this recognizable moccasin at a glance: the Gommino. Back on the birth of a cult shoe born in the boot of Italy.

Tod's moccasins: an artisanal heritage

In 1978, Diego Della Valle, grandson of cobbler, is about to become the Italian king of moccasins by inventing a shoe designed to be in his own words "like a glove for the foot". In fact, its manufacture is closer to that of the glove. Designed in a single piece of leather, the moccasin is then hand sewn and lined with a rubber sole with 133 spikes, a distinctive trademark patented by the brand. So many steps that require precision and attention from the small hands that work in the Italian workshops Brancadoro, located a few hours from Milan.

Tod's moccasins: a timeless elegance

If the stars of the planet, from George Clooney to Harrison Ford, have quickly adopted this luxury moccasin, it is because its craftsmanship and the quality materials that compose it have made it an absolute symbol of the art of living Italian style.

Revised and corrected over the seasons, the Gommino is adorned with the finest materials and vary in sandstone trends, fringes to its studded version. Timeless, Tod's moccasins are today synonymous with casual elegance.
