Salford Red Devils will be without Lama Tasi for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.
Tasi, who rejoined Salford this year after a short spell at St Helens, picked up the problem when colliding with Wigan Warriors hooker Sam Powell in last weekend's Challenge Cup semi-final loss.
After further medical examination, the 27-year-old has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign, meaning he will miss all of the Super 8's stage as the Red Devils vie for a place in the Grand Final.
The Samoa international, who was already set to miss the next two games after pleading guilty to a Grade B striking charge, is disappointed to miss out but he is confident his side can still go all the way.
"It's really frustrating to pick up an injury like this so late on in the season," Tasi said. "We're coming up to crunch time with the Super 8s and to miss these sorts of games is disappointing.
"But, we have a fantastic set of forwards with guys like Weller Hauraki, Craig Kopzcak, Tyrone McCarthy and, of course, Ben Murdoch-Masila.
"I've no doubts those lads will perform in over the next few weeks beginning with big games against Hull FC and Castleford Tigers."
