The cosmetic slow comes from where?

Consume less but better. This is the idea of cosmetic slow . Originally: Julien Kaibeck . This Belgian aromatherapist and cosmetologist has coined the term in reference to slow food , another movement of the same kind aiming to sensitize us to the consumption of local and natural food products . "80% of the cosmetics currently on the market are made with oil and plastic derivatives," explains Julien Kaibeck. The goal of the cosmetic slow is to return to the use of noble and healthy plant products, good for the body and the environment. "

Beginning in 2013, he also chronicles regular beauty in the media, founds the association Slow Cosmetics and deposits the name. Driven by more than a hundred volunteers, the association tracks brands, decodes labels and rewards its own formulations and transparent marketing. Beware, this is not a label, strictly speaking, but a reward comparable to Michelin stars in the world of gastronomy.

How to adopt cosmetic slow?

"Many cosmetics present themselves today as genuine while they are not. The consumer chooses his own according to his ethics and his own sensitivity to the environment, "continues Julien Kaibeck. Adopting the cosmetic slow means going back to basics and agreeing to spend more time in the bathroom: because the best way to take the plunge is to make your own beauty products 100% safe . Sometimes one or two natural elements are sufficient and a single product can have several uses. Proof with apricot oil that can be used to make a make-up remover or a minute moisturizer . And for atopic , acneic, mature , oily skin, etc. ? No panic, with each problematic, its essential oil : rosemary verbenone for oily skin or geranium for mature skin for example.

Otherwise, the most urgent of us can refer to the list of brands and cosmetics regularly updated on the website of the association (www.slow-cosmetique.org).
