St Helens star Alex Walmsley admits Sunday's trip to Wakefield is his side's biggest game of the season.
The prop ran in one of Saints' seven tries during the weekend's 46-28 win over the Catalans, breaking through the line before carrying the ball 50 metres and rounding full-back Tony Gigot for a memorable score.
Sunday's triumph helped Justin Holbrook's men close the gap on the top four and they will have the chance to get one over on the Super League's fourth place side when they take on Trinity this weekend.
After a difficult start to 2017, which resulted in coach Kieron Cunningham losing his job, Saints seem to be coming good at the right time heading into their final match of the regular season.
Wakefield themselves are going well and Walmsley admits he is expecting a stern test in what he says is the most important game of the campaign.
"Wakefield on Sunday is a big game," he told the club's official website. "They are flying and we need to close that gap to the top four. It is the biggest game of the season for us.
"We're looking forward to it. We have new systems that are working for us and are playing well. They are a dangerous side though so we have to learn the lessons of Sunday and move on."
