Wasps lost their 20-match unbeaten home run on Sunday as Marcus Smith kicked a late winning penalty for Harlequins.

England internationals James Haskell and Danny Cipriani were both sent to the sin bin during the game, which cost the side as they succumbed to a narrow three point defeat.

Christian Wade grounded for Wasps before Haskell was binned for an altercation with England team-mate Joe Marler.

Marland Yarde and Charlie Walker scored either side of the break before Cipriani was yellow carded later on for an intentional knock on, with Quins prop Kyle Sinckler also sitting out ten minutes for an illegal tackle.

Tom Cruse later replied for Wasps as they went into the final few minutes level at 21-21.

However, the extra man advantage proved crucial as Harlequins won themselves a late penalty, which Marcus Smith duly converted to give them a 24-21 victory in Coventry.

Wasps stay second in the league while Harlequins move up to fifth.
