When knitting becomes solidarity

Knitting is good, it makes it possible to create pretty sweaters, plaids in big stitches for the sofa, caps for the babies and even DIY gifts at lower cost . But for several years, addicted to this creative hobby has found an additional opportunity to shake their needles, working for the good cause. And if you can already knit hat cups for Innocent smoothies for the benefit of Les Petits Frères des Pauvres , you can also improve the conditions of people in need by knitting for them.

Created more than a year ago, at the initiative of several students, the Une Couverture Pour l'Hiver association invests to help the homeless. In addition to collecting donations, distributing hot beverages and clothing, the volunteers multiply maraudes and try to get in touch with these people in order to maintain an indispensable social link.

How to support a cover for the winter?

You can make a financial donation to the association via the Hellocasa website (www.helloasso.com/associations/une-couverture-pour-l- winter) but you can also participate by knitting! The association collects plaids, sweaters, scarves, blankets, hats, gloves, socks ... in order to redistribute them to the homeless during its weekly maraudes.
