Wigan star Oliver Gildart says it will be weird this weekend for him and his team-mates not being involved in the semi-finals.
Wigan have a great record of reaching the latter stages of the league and have been to Old Trafford for the past four years, and you have to go back to 2006 to find the last time they were not involved in the last four.
Wigan's hopes were dashed when Hull beat Castleford on Friday night but in reality they were in trouble before then and, after an up and down campaign, Gildart and co will now watch the semi-finals on TV.
The centre said: “It’s going to be weird watching because every year I’ve been in the team, we’ve been to the Grand Final.
“But we got what we deserved at the end of the day, and we’ve not been good enough.
“There’s nothing we can do about it now but rest up and make sure we come back better.”
