Jack Wilshere has a future at Arsenal but boss Arsene Wenger has warned he has to "work hard and fight for a place" this summer.
Wilshere's long-term future at the Emirates has been in doubt for some time as the injury-prone midfielder struggled to hold down a regular place in Wenger's side before being allowed to join Bournemouth on a season-long loan deal last year.
He impressed at times at the Vitality Stadium and was tipped to make a permanent move there at one stage, while several other clubs in the Premier League have also been credited with an interest in the England international.
Wilshere, who is currently injured again with a calf problem, has just under a year left on his Gunners contract but Wenger appears happy to have him back this summer, although he has warned the 25-year-old he needs to prove himself again when fit and work hard.
Wenger said: "I think Jack will be with Arsenal next season, yes. I will give you a very focused answer on that, that he has to work hard to come back and fight for a place in the team.
"But once he is ready, when he comes back, he will not be far from practising with the team."
