Xbox One X will help the industry "grow", according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

The brand new Microsoft console is set to launch in November, and Yves believes the $500 system offers more "immersion" for gamers, especially with releases such as Ubisoft's 'Assassin's Creed: Origins', which Microsoft is a marketing partner for.

Speaking to GameSpot.com, Yves said: "We did a deal with Microsoft on 'Assassin's Creed: Origins', which is taking really good advantage of the power of the machine. We like very much what they are doing because instead of having a Kinect or something this time the industry went after more power for the machine, so more immersion, better AI, and overall better games.

"We like that because it means the industry will grow because the better the experiences, the more people want to have it. We think it has a good potential. If Microsoft is really behind it, it can do well."

Yves' comments come after Microsoft executive Dave McCarthy said those that purchase the new system - which supports 4K and HDR gaming - will have notably different experiences to those that stick with 2013's Xbox One, or the Xbox One S, which was released earlier this year.

He said: "It was a really conscious move on our part to support customer choice. I think people are going to decide what they want to gravitate to. I think when they see experiences running on Xbox One X, whether it be games where developers haven't touched a thing and they're just loading faster with smoother frame rates and they are looking better, or it's an experience like 'Forza Motorsport 7' or 'Anthem' where it's been really crafted with the high-end capabilities in mind, they'll see the difference."

And although the $500 price tag is high, Dave insisted Microsoft are still offering the best price for those looking for the very best in terms of performance.

He added: "If they're not ready to make the jump, [all of the Xbox One S controllers, games, and accessories are] going to work whenever they do make the jump [to Xbox One X]. But I would get back to that point of, if you really place a premium on ultra-high definition, high fidelity, spatial audio, all those things, you will not find a better price, performance combination and design than you will with Xbox One X."
