Every partner is guilty of it- you treat your loved one or say something nice in order to get them in your good books again. Usually it's after an argument where you were at fault or when you've been in a particularly bad mood. Here are some things you can do to make it up to them.

Pay them a compliment- Pay extra attention to them and find something you can give them a boost over- the way their hair looks or the way they're dressed. Thank them for something they've done for you.

Buy them something- If they have been dropping hints lately- pop out and buy them a little surprise. It doesn't have to cost the earth- just something to let them know you're thinking of them like their favourite choccy bar or magazine.

Help them with something- If they've needed with help organising their photos on their laptop, they've forgotten to take their coat to the dry cleaners or neglected to clean out their wardrobe- suggest doing it for or with them. There's no time like the present.

Talk them up to other people- If you're in company- tell them what they do right not what they do wrong. It will not only let your partner know that they are ticking all the boxes but people have less to gossip about if they think your relationship is fine and dandy.

Post something nice on Facebook- If you're a fan of social media, post about something nice your partner did for you or just how much you love them. Tell the rest of the world just how great they are.

Drop them a text- There is nothing like a loving text to let your partner know how much you love them and how you think of them even in the midst of doing work stuff.

Take them out- For a drive, to their favourite shop or to visit someone whose company they really enjoy. Let it be a surprise so they can just go with the flow.

Take them for a meal- You could go to their favourite eatery or if you're strapped for cash- cook them their favourite nosh at home- they will appreciate all the care and attention that goes into it.

Send them an email- If getting out your phone to send a quick text is not appropriate- then why not send them an email? Your boss will never know and you're still achieving the same as sending a text message- just keep it clean!

Take them for a coffee- Grab a seat in the back of your local café and buy them a coffee and a cake. You can even use the time to say you're sorry or talk through what caused your argument in the first place.
