Everton have been drawn to face Championship outfit Sunderland at Goodison Park in round three of the Carabao Cup.
The likes of Darron Gibson, Aiden McGeady, Bryan Oviedo and James Vaughan could all line up for Sunderland against their former employers while loanees Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning are ineligible to face their parent club.
Meanwhile, Toffees stopper Jordan Pickford will line up against Sunderland for the first time since joining Everton over the summer.
Everton and Sunderland have met twice previously in the League Cup, most recently in November 1998 when Everton claimed victory on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
The tie will be played on the week commencing September 18, with Everton keen to go further than round three, having lost to Norwich at that stage last season.
