Set for release just three days before Christmas, new Netflix original fantasy film Bright comes from Suicide Squad director David Ayer, and stars the likes of Will Smith, Joel Edgerton and Noomi Rapace. You can check out the brilliant first look trailer for the upcoming release below, along with a series of brand new images:

Set in the present day, but in an alternate reality, the action-thriller follows two cops from hugely different backgrounds; one’s a human named Ward (Smith), and the other’s an orc named Jakoby (Edgerton). Embarking out on a regular night patrol, the two quickly get embroiled in extraordinary scenes that look set to alter their futures forever.

Battling through both personal differences as well as legions of enemies who are willing to do whatever it takes to wipe them out, the pair must work together to protect a deadly and once long-forgotten relic which could destroy everything if it fell into the wrong hands.

Lucy Fry, Edgar Ramirez, Ike Barinholtz, Enrique Murciano, Jay Hernandez, Andrea Navedo, Veronica Ngo, Alex Meraz, Margaret Cho, Brad William Henke, Dawn Olivieri and Kenneth Choi also star in the flick, which has been worked from a screenplay by Max Landis. Director Ayer serves as a producer alongside Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless.

Bright: The Album has also been announced, with a groundbreaking collection of hit songs promised that will accompany the film when it hits the streaming platform. No release date has yet been given for the record.

Bright officially debuts on Netflix on December 22, 2017.
