Forward Brett Ferres says he is looking forward to going up against Wigan Warriors in the Leeds Rhinos' opening Super 8s outing.
Having finished second at the end of the regular season, Leeds are well in the mix for the playoff places come the end of the Super 8s.
All eyes are on the Challenge Cup semi-finals this weekend, with the Rhinos in action against Hull FC at the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday.
However, after being beaten 34-0 with an understrength side by the Warriors, Ferres is looking forward to having another go against Wigan at Headingley on August 4.
He told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "They are a good side and have found a bit of form in recent weeks. You are always wary of Wigan and the threat they pose as they have some great players in there.
"A few of them are starting to fire now after long lay-offs and we know we will have to be right on it to get something out of it.
"It’ll be a good position to see where we’re at, how we’re developing for the Eights and our own progress."
