Arsenal have agreed a £5million fee with Watford for the transfer of defender Kieran Gibbs, but personal terms are yet to be finalised.

Reports claim wages could yet be a stumbling block to a deal for the Hornets, but the player is keen to move on in search of first-team football.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is happy to let Gibbs go as the 27-year-old from Lambeth is now well down the pecking order in his position of left-back.

The England international has not featured for Arsenal this season and is now within the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.

Watford head coach Marco Silva has been looking to sign a new left-back before the close of the transfer window to provide competition for Jose Holebas.
