Every season, its creator! For 13 years, H & M has been marketing at least once a year a capsule collection created in collaboration with a renowned fashion designer. This season, Ederm sticks to it. The collection will be in store on November 2nd.
Haute couture version H & M
Making haute couture accessible to the greatest number is a bit of H & M's credo. Since 2004, the Swedish ready-to-wear giant has been developing capsule collections designed with big names in fashion. In 2004, Karl Lagerfeld was the first to imagine 30 pieces for the brand, at competitive prices (between 19.90 to 149.90 €). Following were Stella McCartney in 2005, Viktor & Rolf in 2006, Roberto Cavalli in 2007, Comme des Garçons in 2008, Matthew Williamson and Jimmy Choo in 2009, Sonia Rykiel at the end of 2009, Lanvin in 2010, Versace in 2011, Marni in 2012, Maison Martin Margiela in 2012, Isabel Marant in 2013, Alexander Wang in 2014, Balmain in 2015, Kenzo in 2016. In 2017, H & M gives the reins of its capsule collection to Erdem Moralioglu, Turkish-Canadian stylist who made his classes at Vivienne Westwood and Diane von Furstenberg before creating her own brand, Erdem, in 2005. How is the Erdem collection for H & M?
In all, the collection has 82 pieces ... for women and men! Romantic dresses, vaporous blouses but also cut-to-body clothes such as dresses or suit jackets. On the printed side, we find a lot of black and white, but also small colorful flowers on a black background in the female wardrobe and blue and white flowers on a purple background for men. In terms of materials, there is black lace , tweed (especially on a pretty skirt), mountain spirit sweaters made of mohair and polyamide and also, we are fans, a set 100% black silk decorated with small flowers white!
As a bonus, the Swedish giant appealed to Baz Luhrmann to make the promotional clip for this collection .
