West Ham are continuing to monitor Benfica's Raul Jimenez after signing his Mexican strike partner Javier Hernandez.
Reports in Portugal claim the Hammers were among the Premier League clubs to send a scout to the Primeira Liga match between Chaves and Benfica on Monday night.
Jimenez came off the bench in the 78th minute as the Lisbon giants chased a goal, which they got in the 90th minute to claim all three points.
West Ham have been linked to the 26-year-old frontman all summer long with scouts even watching him train when Benfica were at St George's Park for their pre-season preparations last month.
Jimenez is not a regular starter for Benfica and has seen only 19 minutes of action as a substitute in the Eagles' opening two league matches of the current campaign.
He remains a fixture for his country however, appearing in eight World Cup qualifiers for Mexico alongside Hammers hitman 'Little Pea' Hernandez as they close in on a berth at Russia 2018.
