Not easy to define what is a good mattress. When some prefer a firm mattress, others on the contrary feel better on a soft mattress. Especially subjective, the concept of "good mattress" varies from one person to another.
However, whether you like firm mattresses or soft mattresses, there are still 3 criteria to take into account to choose the right mattress.
Criterion n ° 1: the reception of the mattress
The reception of a mattress, what is it? This is the first sensation that a mattress conveys when touched. The home of a mattress can be dynamic, enveloping, soft ... These are the materials of the top (including wadding or memory foam viscoelastic when it comes for example a quality mattress) that give all these features to the home of a mattress. And inevitably, the reception of a mattress depends on the taste of each one!
Criterion 2: mattress support
After having dynamically felt the reception of the mattress with his hands, comes the moment to test it and therefore inevitably, to lie on it. The support of the mattress is the feeling that the mattress gives when lying down. He too is subjective since he has to adapt to our morphology and to our different pressure zones. Namely, the pressure zones of men are more homogeneous (back and shoulders) than those of women (pelvis) who tend to be more arched.
- A person of strong body builds in the mattress that is why we should rather opt for a firm or very firm mattress.
- While a thin person does not really sink into the mattress. So, we choose rather a mattress of average firmness.
- For a couple where the man is strong and the petite woman, for example, it brings on his mattress a soft welcome and a firm support.
Criterion 3: Aeration of the mattress
We do not suspect it, but aeration of the mattress plays a big role in the state of our sleep since we lose each night half a liter of water. A well ventilated mattress guarantees the optimal evacuation of all this humidity. And of course, a serene sleep, where one is neither too hot, nor too cold.
- The top of the ventilation: a double-sided mattress with a cotton and linen side for the summer and a wool and silk face for the winter.
- Support materials (foam, springs and latex) also play on the ventilation of the mattress. Latex is the most airy material and springs naturally dissipate heat. When choosing your mattress, make sure that it is anti-perspiration.
Finally, to choose your mattress, there is no secret: we try it! And not just 2 minutes in a hurry. A mattress is an investment in the long term so we take the time (at least 10 minutes, if not more!) To ask to see how our muscles are torn over and how our body ends up s' relax there.
