Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat is hoping to improve over the second half of the season after enduring a frustrating 2017 campaign to date.

The Russian has finished in the points on just two occasions during the opening 11 races of the season, while his team-mate, Carlos Sainz Jr, has regularly finished in the top ten and currently leads their personal duel by 31 points.

Kvyat feels persistent scrutiny from race stewards, coupled with technical issues with his STR12 car, has contributed to his early-season struggles.

"I believe that in general, we had many promising weekends, but we just didn't manage to get the maximal outcome," the 23-year-old said.

"It was either technical issues, or I got in trouble during the first lap, which happened twice, what prevented us from scoring more points. Many times we had minor issues here and there which damaged us big time."

Despite his frustration, Kvyat is determined to enjoy a more successful second half to the campaign, starting with the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa later this month.

"So, we just need to continue doing our work, trying to have cleaner Saturdays and Sundays and the reward will be there," he added. "Everything is under control, and you need to be pleased with your job, enjoy doing it. That's the recipe."
