'Life is Strange: Before The Storm' will explore the "rawness" of protagonist Chloe Price.
The hotly anticipated prequel to the hugely popular story-driven game 'Life is Strange' is due to tell the story of Chloe - who appeared in the first game as the friend of lead character Max Caulfield - and her relationship with a girl named Rachel Amber.
In a new video released by developers Deck Nine, players are given a deeper understanding of Chloe's character, and what makes her so "relatable".
Chloe's voice actress Rhianna Devries said: "There's something so relatable about Chloe, and I think that's why so many people love her. It's because we all have something in us, or something about her that we either want to be or already have.
"I took Chloe very personally. I tried to play her as raw, and as close to heart as possible. I think just the rawness of her hurt and her pain is the thing that makes her such a dynamic and loveable character."
Ashly Burch, who voiced Chloe is the first game, is returning to 'Before The Storm' as a writing consultant, and said watching her relationship with Rachel - which was heavily mentioned in the first instalment - is "really special".
She said: "We heard about [Chloe and Rachel's relationship] in the first game a lot, and it's a lot of what motivates Chloe, and being able actually see it and have the players experience it I think will be really special and fun."
'Life is Strange: Before The Storm' is set three years before the events of the first game, and will be available in three episodes.
Episode one, entitled 'Awake, will be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on August 31.
