Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic could be on his way out of St James' Park, with Lyon set to table an offer for the Serbian.

The Ligue 1 side have already brought in six new players this summer but are still keen on bolstering their attacking options, with star striker Alexandre Lacazette making the switch to Arsenal.

Lyon boss Bruno Genesio is thought to be keen on bringing Mitrovic across the Channel and an offer of 15m euros is believed to be on table for the 22-year-old former Anderlecht star.

Having already seen striker Daryl Murphy move on to Nottingham Forest this summer, Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez might be reluctant to allow another forward to leave before he brings in reinforcements.

That might delay matters although it is still expected that Mitrovic will be plying his trade away from Tyneside in the upcoming campaign.
