McLaren driver Stoffel Vandoorne believes the team are constantly improving and says they must aim for a top-four spot.

The 25-year-old is getting to grips with the demands of Formula One in his first full season with McLaren, having raced only in Bahrain last term.

Vandoorne claimed his first points of the campaign last time out in Hungary when coming home 10th, while team-mate Fernando Alonso has picked up 10 points after the first 11 races.

The Belgian believes the team can now start to register points on a more consistent basis and feels they are capable of pushing for fourth spot in the Constructors' Championship.

Vandoorne said: "I think the aim for us should be to be the fourth best team on a more regular basis, but the midfield is so tight and so close.

"We’re definitely improving race-by-race and finding new stuff to make us feel more comfortable and more competitive."
